The Tagalog Script

The Tagalog script typically refers to Baybayin, an ancient writing system used in the Philippines before Spanish colonization.

Baybayin is an abugida, where each symbol represents a consonant with an inherent 'a' vowel sound that can be changed with a diacritical mark called a kudlit.

Today, Tagalog is primarily written using the Latin alphabet, but Baybayin is experiencing a cultural resurgence for artistic and symbolic purposes.
