The Lao Script

The Lao script is used for writing the Lao language. It is also the official script of a number of minority languages in Laos.

It is used to write Lao, Katu, Khmu, Kuy, Pali, and TaʼOi.

The Lao alphabet was adapted from the Khmer script, and is a sister system to the Thai script.
